Minutes
The Minutes of the meeting held on 26th
May were accepted as a correct record subject to the amendment of Minute 557
(i) to state that the grant for 2005-6 is to be £431.25.
563 Police Matters
It was agreed the FH be recognised as NMCC’s official contact with Inspector Pratt of Grampian Police.
564. Road Safety:
(i) Lighting.
A
letter from Mr Bruce Sutherland drew attention to the inferior street lighting
on the eastern side of
(ii) Pedestrian Crossing (See Minute 538)
CllrF reported that renewed investigations on vehicle speeds and pedestrian numbers showed that Newmachar reached only to 0.44 on the scale where 1.0 indicates the need for a ‘Pelican’ crossing although this is an increase on the former reading of 0.3.
565. Community Planning
RB drew attention to the opportunity for NMCC to comment on the AC plans for Community Planning Partnerships by the deadline of 23rd September. It was sensible that the revised plans now recognised that community councils had a role to play. NMCC agreed that it would make an official submission.
566. Routine Business
There
were no important developments to report in respect of the First Responder Scheme (549); the Community Hall (558); the Youth Project (553); or the
567. Flower Tubs (See Minute 560)
It was agreed to seek an AC project grant of £220 for the purchase of primroses to place in the flower boxes over the winter months. The new metal flower boxes provided by Mr RB Ross had arrived and arrangements to place and plant them were in hand.
568. Planning Applications
NMCC noted the application by Mr RB Ross for an office building at Parkhill and that by Mr Barclay for premises for the ‘Blue Bonnet’ children’s nursery at Cunnighar but saw no reason to comment officially.
